Methodology

Evidence before assumptions.

How SEDGE moves an opportunity from claim to financeable project, and what each step produces.

01

Opportunity

A site, a power position or an existing project enters the workflow with a stated objective.

02

Verify

Separate documented facts from claims: land control, grid evidence, planning status, connectivity.

03

Identify gaps

Name what blocks development and what evidence is still missing, with the level of verification behind each item.

04

Development readiness

Close gaps in a defined sequence, coordinating qualified specialists where regulated or technical work is required.

05

Financeability

Assemble the structure, evidence and materials investors and lenders require before they will engage.

Verification levels

Every fact carries its source.

Nothing is presented as verified because it is plausible. Each item in a SEDGE report is labelled with how it is evidenced and when it was last checked.

L1Public data

Sourced from public records or published material.

L2SEDGE researched

Assembled and cross-checked by SEDGE.

L3Counterparty confirmed

Confirmed in writing by the owner, utility or operator.

L4Independently verified

Checked by a qualified independent specialist.

L5Formally documented

Evidenced by a binding or formal document.

Public framework

SEDGE Site Readiness Framework — Spain

What we verify before calling a site data-center ready. This is the framework we apply, published openly.

01

Power evidence

Application, offer or connection agreement; voltage, capacity, substation, reinforcement dependency and dates. Indicative information is recorded as indicative.

02

Land control

Ownership, option, lease or conditional agreement; exclusivity; boundaries; access rights; encumbrances.

03

Planning

Zoning classification, permitted use, planning route, municipal position, expected consent sequence.

04

Fibre

Route availability, carrier presence, distance to existing infrastructure, latency to relevant hubs.

05

Environment

Protected designations, water, noise, environmental assessment requirement, known constraints.

06

Delivery timeline

Realistic sequence from today to energisation, with the dependencies that define the critical path.

07

Unknowns

What is not known, why it matters, and what study or confirmation would resolve it.

08

Verification levels

Each item labelled L1–L5 with the date it was last verified.

Illustrative assessment — methodology demonstration

How the output reads.

The structure below is an illustration of the report format only. It does not describe a real client, site or engagement, and the values are not data.

Land controlPartially readyOption agreement in place; boundary and access rights unconfirmed.
PowerEvidence requiredGrid application submitted. No offer, no capacity confirmation, no date.
PlanningEvidence requiredIndustrial classification indicated; permitted use not formally confirmed.
FibreReadyTwo carrier routes documented within the site corridor.
EnvironmentCritical gapProtected designation within the study area; assessment requirement unresolved.

An assessment does not end with a score. It ends with a sequence: what to resolve, in what order, with which specialist, and what each item changes for financeability.

Clear boundaries

  • SEDGE does not replace licensed engineers.
  • SEDGE does not treat indicative grid information as secured power.
  • SEDGE does not provide regulated investment advice.
  • SEDGE does not raise capital, place securities or work on fundraising success fees.
  • SEDGE does not present unverified project claims as facts.
  • SEDGE coordinates specialist technical, legal and regulated work where required.
